Program Chair Kim Crews pulled together a wonderfully diverse agenda of SWG speakers who shared their research and experiences ranging from the Himalaya to South Africa and South America. Local speakers included MacArthur Fellow Patricia Limerick, a founder of the Center of the American West, and a member of the National Park and Bureau of Reclamation staff on resource sustainability, especially of water. The post-meeting trips to complemented our theme: Much of the Amtrak trip paralleled the Colorado River and geologist Lon Abbott providedcommentary. Naturalist Carol Kampert led a birding trip on the shortgrass prairie of the Pawnee Grassland.
Thanks to the Triennial Committee in Boulder: Sallie Greenwood, Jan Robertson, Sara Neustadtl, Priscilla McKenna, Susan Planck, Barbara Buttenfield, joni palmer, Amy Zader, and Molly Holmberg.
