Presented by Kari Ann Buckvold
Saturday February 18, 2017 @ 10:45 am - 1:00 pm
(Central Time (US & Canada), Mexico City)
The Exchequer Restaurant and Pub – The North Room
Kari Ann Buckvold was a GIS Technician at a large engineering firm when she was let go in March 2010. Seeing that the job market was grim, she gave up her apartment, put her stuff in storage and headed out on an adventure. She went WWOOFing (World Wide Opportunity on Organic Farms) in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and California. In addition to learning how to milk goats and make cheese, she saw the incredible landscape unique to the southwest and learned about its ways through her hosts. This lecture will explore the different farms and homesteads she stayed on, plus some of the famous and less famous places that make the southwest special.
